Nano-biomaterials for Radiology and Nuclear Medicine


Introduction

Cancer radiation therapy (radiotherapy) including radioisotope therapy (RIT) and external radiation beam therapy (EBRT) has been extensively used in the clinic to manage cancers, especially those solid tumors. In our laboratory, by utilizing biomaterials and nanotechnology, we have developed strategies to enhance the efficacy of both RIT and EBRT. The combination of radiotherapy with other therapies (e.g. chemotherapy, phototherapy, immunotherapy) has also shown great promises in cancer treatment.


Specific projects:
- Radiolabeled nanoprobes for nuclear imaging and tumor-targeted therapy.
- Modulation of tumor microenvironment for enhanced cancer radiotherapy.
- Biomaterials to enable cancer radiotherapy and combination therapy.
