Welcome

College of Nano Science and Technology (CNST) is a new college jointly established by Soochow University, Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) and the University of Waterloo (Canada). It aims at providing high-quality professional nanoscience and nanotechnology education to accommodate the demands of the rapidly changing fields of nano science and technology. The college was founded in December 2010, and was soon approved as one of the 17 National Pilot Colleges by the Ministry of Education. The College is leading the transformation of higher education in China.

CNST offers bachelor’s, master’s,and Ph.D. degree programs in nanomaterials and technology. Currently, there are  814 students in the college, including 421 undergraduates, 340 master students ,  and  81 Ph.D. candidates. The majority of the faculty members are from the Institute of Functional Nano and Soft Materials (FUNSOM;founded in 2008) at Soochow University, with strong educational and interdisciplinary research backgrounds in chemistry, physics, materials science, biomedical sciences, and electronic engineering. CNST, FUNSOM, and SUN-WIN Joint Research Institute for Nanotechnology (jointly established in 2011 by Soochow University, Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology at the University of Waterloo, and SIP) are pioneering a “trinity” organizational form combining teaching, research, and industrialization.
