Organized by the Institute of Functional Nano & Soft Materials (FUNSOM), FUNSOM-ACS NANO Bilateral Workshop took place on August 24-25, 2017 on the Dushu Lake Campus of Soochow University.
The workshop invited 6 experts from the Editorial Board of ASC NANO, including the editor in chief, Prof. Paul S. Weiss from University of California at Los Angeles, and 5 associate editors (Prof. Andrey L Rogach from City University of Hong Kong, Prof. Andrew T. S. Wee from National Universityof Singapore, Prof. Yury Gogotsi from Drexel University, Prof. Paul Mulvaney from The University of Melbourne, and Prof. Yan Li from Peking University).Prof. Yadong Yin, from the University of California, Riverside, was also presented.

Prof. Shuit-Tong Lee, Director of FUNSOM, gave the welcome remarks at the beginning. The workshop was divided into three parts, the first consisted of invited academicreports with a total of 5 oral presentations. Prof. Weiss, Prof. Rogach, Prof. Wee,Prof. Gogotsi, and Prof. Yin presented the latest progress in Nano research and the status of ACS NANO. In the second part, 8 professors from FUNSOM introduced more details on research activities in the institute. The third part consisted of discussion and gave everyone the chance to exchange ideas, open channels of communication to the extension of collaborations in the near future. ACS NANO editors highly evaluated FUNSOM's rapid development with such a short historyand provided some suggestions for the development in future. Lastly, a lab tourwas arranged to show the advanced experimental equipments and platform in FUNSOM.


As one of the celebration activities for ACS NANO 10 years anniversary, thesuccess of this workshop greatly strengthens the connection between members in FUNSOMand ACS NANO, and provides a good opportunity to promote the bilateralcooperations in the future.
