Recently, the international academic organization ScholarGPS released its 2024 list of Top 0.05% Scholars Worldwide. The list is divided into two categories: Highly Ranked Scholar - Lifetime and Highly Ranked Scholar - Prior 5 Years. In 2024, more than 200 scholars from the Chinese Mainland were included in the Lifetime list, and more than 1,000 scholars were included in the Prior 5 Years list.

On the Lifetime list, three scholars from Soochow University appear, two of whom are from the Institute of Functional Nano & Soft Materials (FUNSOM): Academician Shuit-Tong Lee and Professor Zhuang Liu.

On the Prior 5 Years list, 17 scholars from Soochow University appear, six of whom are from FUNSOM: Professor Zhuang Liu, Professor Liang Cheng, Professor Zhenhui Kang, Professor Yanguang Li, Professor Youyong Li, and Professor Liangsheng Liao.

The ScholarGPS Top 0.05% Scholars list utilizes artificial intelligence and big data analytics to evaluate scholars' research output, impact, and paper quality across multiple dimensions, providing an authoritative reference for the academic community.
