Personal information:
Wei Liu is a Young Distinguished Professor at the Institute of Functional Nano & Soft Materials (FUNSOM) of Soochow University, China. He took this faculty position in March 2025. Before that, he took postdoctoral training in Professor Sihong Wang-group at the University of Chicago and in Professor Takao Someya-group at the University of Tokyo. He earned Ph.D. degree in 2019 from Beijing Institute of Technology under the supervision of Professors Xiaohong Zhang and Yuping Dong. During the doctoral studies, Wei Liu was awarded a scholarship by the China Scholarship Council to pursue a one-year joint training program at Kyushu University, Japan, where he worked with Professor Chihaya Adachi, a pioneer in the field of thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) mechanisms for third-generation electroluminescent materials. Wei Liu’s research primarily focused on the development of flexible, stretchable, degradable, and recyclable organic light-emitting diode (OLED) materials and devices.
