Targeted Protein Degradation Technology for Disease Treatment
Introduction:
Targeted Protein Degradation (TPD) technology is an emerging biotechnology aiming at selectively degrading disease-causing proteins through specific mechanisms. TPD can address the degradation of intracellular proteins, membrane proteins, and extracellular proteins, and theoretically, it can also target ‘undruggable’ targets. A new research direction in our laboratory is the development of tissue-specific TPD technologies for membrane proteins, which can selectively degrade specific proteins in specific tissues (e.g.,tumors). This technology provides new ideas for the treatment of various diseases, especially cancer, neurodegenerative diseases and autoimmune diseases.
